About Us
Mr. Gilchrist and Mr. Mackenzie have known each other since Mr. Gilchrist taught Mr. Mackenzie in elementary school! We have worked together for 6 years as coaches for the North Salem Varsity Baseball Team, winning BACK TO BACK State Championships in 2016 and 2017! Our focus for the upcoming school year is to improve the collaboration and critical thinking skills of our students through physical activity. Students will grow through the physical, cognitive, and affective domains as they conquer challenges presented to them throughout the year. Students will be physically active on a daily basis and learn skills they can utilize for the rest of their lives!. |
Mr. Gilchrist |
I received a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education from Manhattan College. I received a Master of Science in Elementary Education from Mercy College and a Master of Science in Administration and Supervision from Fordham University. I have taught Physical Education for the past twenty five years-twenty years at North Salem. I am a former football, basketball, and cross country coach. I am the head coach of the varsity baseball team. I also lead the after-school PQ running club program. I am an active volunteer in our youth baseball program providing baseball instruction during the winter months and coaching travel baseball during the summer and fall months. During my free time, I enjoy relaxing and spending time with my daughter Kate, son Robbie, and wife Jennifer.

Mr. Mackenzie |
I myself am a graduate from North Salem Central School District, attending PQ for grade school as well! After graduating from Springfield College in 2013 with a Bachelors in Physical Education, I became a P.E. teacher in Danbury, CT for two years. This is my 6th year teaching in North Salem. Along with teaching, I coach Varsity Girls Basketball, and Varsity Baseball with Rob Gilchrist. I am an advocate for living an active life style. In my free time I love playing sports, golfing, fishing, and spending time with my family!
